Honoring the Centerburg High School Trojan robotics team on receiving honors at the 2009 Buckeye Regional FIRST Robotics Competition.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


       WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Centerburg High School Trojan robotics team on being recognized as a regional finalist, the Highest Rookie Seed, and a Rookie All-Star for its performance at the 2009 Buckeye Regional For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology Robotics Competition; and

       WHEREAS, All those associated with the CHS Trojan robotics team are deserving of praise for their ability to excel in many pursuits and to meet challenges with enthusiasm and confidence. Using science, math, technology, and engineering skills to design and construct a mobile robot, team members Kathryn Hebenthal, Becca Trumble, Danielle LeChard, Bryce Trumble, Noah Orr, Abby Altizer, Audrey Urban, Thomas Liwosz, David Hebenthal, Graham Altizer, Zack Liston, Alex Losego, Austin Garber, Creston Buzard, Willis Fannin, and Michael LeChard devoted countless hours to rigorous training in order to be in peak mental condition, and consequently, they were awarded the highest honor for a first-year team, earning the Rookie All-Star and Highest Rookie Seed awards, as well as being named a Buckeye Regional finalist at this year's Buckeye Regional FIRST Robotics Competition, and they advanced to the international competition; and

       WHEREAS, Competitive spirit and innovative effort have played major roles in the development of our country. The drive to excel is best developed when youth are presented with trials that permit them to test their skills, knowledge, and strengths against their peers; and

       WHEREAS, With their vitality, intelligence, and positive outlook, the members of CHS Trojan robotics team have set an example worthy of emulation. We encourage these young individuals to continue to strive for excellence so that they may assume a meaningful and productive role in our complex society; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Centerburg High School Trojan robotics team on its accomplishments and salute its members and instructors as fine Ohioans; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Centerburg High School Trojan robotics team.
