A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Edison Academy ColdConquerors
as the 2009 National eCYBERMISSION Champions.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio we are pleased to pay tribute to the Edison Academy ColdConquerors on winning first place in the 2009 National eCYBERMISSION Competition; and |
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the United States Army, the eCYBERMISSION is a free, web-based science, math, and technology competition that allows students in grades six through nine to compete by solving problems in their communities. By working as a cohesive group, members Allison Frazier, Michelle Vawter, and Mark David Wright have proven their extensive knowledge and demonstrated teamwork, and as a result, they won this year's National eCYBERMISSION Competition; and |
WHEREAS, The accomplishments of the Edison Academy ColdConquerors are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on the students but also on their advisor, Gail Vawter, their team mentor, Michael Vawter, their school, and their community. We are certain that the maturity and experience the students have gained through their participation in the competition will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; and |
WHEREAS, Competitive spirit and innovative effort have played major roles in the development of our country. The drive to excel is best developed when youth are presented with trials that permit them to test their skills, knowledge, and strengths against their peers, and by participating in this event, these fine young students have proven their desire to succeed, both in and out of the classroom; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Edison Academy ColdConquerors on its national title and salute its members and instructors as some of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Edison Academy ColdConquerors. |
