A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Independence High School boys cross country team on winning the 2009 Division III State Championship.
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Independence High School boys cross country team as the 2009 Division III State Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Independence High School boys cross country team are outstanding athletes, and they have established themselves as a truly exceptional squad. With admirable dedication, the Blue Devils worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in running, and as a result, they scored eighty-four points to win this year's Division III State Championship. The unwavering commitment of the runners and coaches has earned them this prestigious distinction, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, Coach Craig Polman has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Independence High School boys cross country team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad's success. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members have established themselves as winners, both in and out of competition, and they have earned the respect and admiration of all who know them; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletics have become a valuable educational tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the Independence High School boys cross country team have learned lessons of discipline, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Independence High School boys cross country team as the 2009 Division III State Champion and recognize all those who contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Independence High School boys cross country team. |
