A RESOLUTION



Senators Harris, Patton, Seitz, Buehrer, Miller, D., Goodman, Cafaro, Wilson, Smith, Turner, Gillmor, Fedor, Jones, Carey, Niehaus, Miller, R., Coughlin, Gibbs, Grendell, Hughes, Schaffer, Cates, Stewart, Kearney, Widener, Morano, Sawyer, Schiavoni, Strahorn, Wagoner, Schuring, Husted 

Honoring Terry J. Collins on his retirement from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Terry J. Collins on his retirement as director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction; and

       WHEREAS,  Diligent and painstaking in all his endeavors, Terry Collins has achieved a noteworthy record of service with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction by ably fulfilling his myriad responsibilities and distinguishing himself as an outstanding leader. Joining the agency in 1977, he served in such roles as a social worker, labor relations officer, deputy warden of programs, warden, deputy director of institutions, and assistant director before being appointed director in 2006, and he has displayed sound judgment, a stellar work ethic, and valuable job skills; and

       WHEREAS,  Terry Collins has shown how very much a conscientious, industrious person can accomplish, and he can be proud that his unflagging dedication to his job has inspired many who know him to devote themselves similarly. He is active with such professional groups as the National Institute of Corrections and Association of Correctional Record Administrators and Supervisors and the Ohio Wardens and Correctional and Court Services associations, and he is deserving of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  We are proud to note that it is through the unsurpassed efforts and deep commitment of conscientious people such as Terry Collins that the State of Ohio continues to grow and prosper. Over the years, he has striven to serve his fellow citizens to the best of his ability, and we applaud him for his fine efforts; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Terry J. Collins on his service to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Terry J. Collins.
