Honoring Nancy L. Zimpher on her service to the University of Cincinnati.
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Nancy L. Zimpher on her exemplary service as president of the University of Cincinnati; and |
| WHEREAS, Nancy Zimpher is a remarkable individual, for she has combined civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in her field. Serving in various roles at The Ohio State University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee before commencing her tenure as president of the University of Cincinnati in 2003, she has also been active with such organizations as the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities, the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges, the Ohio Board of Regents' Articulation & Transfer Advisory Council, the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation, and the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, and she has helped sustain the excellent reputation that has long been the hallmark of the University of Cincinnati; and |
| WHEREAS, The co-author and co-editor of several publications and the recipient of numerous honors, including Prevent Blindness Ohio's People of Vision and the Association of Teacher Educators' Distinguished Research awards, Nancy Zimpher has clearly shown the potential of each person to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society. Always sincere and energetic in her approach to her work, she has proven herself to be a conscientious and responsible Ohioan, and she is truly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, The enthusiasm and expertise Nancy Zimpher has shown in her endeavors have earned her the respect and esteem of many. Indeed, she has the satisfaction of knowing that she has provided a vital service to the community and has established a record of personal and professional attainment that will stand as a hallmark for others to emulate; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Nancy L. Zimpher on her service as president of the University of Cincinnati and extend best wishes for ongoing success as chancellor of the State University of New York; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Nancy L. Zimpher. |
