A RESOLUTION
Honoring Beatrice Thaman as one of Ohio's top youth volunteers for 2009.
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Beatrice Thaman on being named one of Ohio's top two youth volunteers in the 2009 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards; and |
| WHEREAS, Conducted by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honor young volunteers across the country who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to improving the quality of life in our society. This prestigious accolade is a fitting tribute to Beatrice Thaman for raising funds and collecting donations to provide 150,000 vitamin tablets for malnourished children in Guatemala, and we applaud her on her tremendous efforts; and |
| WHEREAS, A home-schooled sixth-grader, Beatrice Thaman has combined humanitarian concern and dedication with selfless initiative to become a dynamic member of her community. She has become involved in many significant endeavors, helping to guarantee a high level of success for all projects with which she been associated, and she has distinguished herself as a conscientious and responsible Ohioan; and |
| WHEREAS, Willingly giving of her time, energy, and abilities, Beatrice Thaman has striven to better the world around her and has earned the respect and esteem of the entire community. We are certain that in the years to come, she will continue to display the same dedication to excellence for which she has become known, and she is truly deserving of praise; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Beatrice Thaman on her exemplary record of service and salute her as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Beatrice Thaman. |
