A RESOLUTION



Senator Wagoner 

Honoring MacKenzie Stewart as a 2010 Division II State Swimming Champion.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate MacKenzie Stewart on winning the 2010 Division II State Championship in the 200-yard individual medley; and

       WHEREAS,  A sophomore at Port Clinton High School, MacKenzie Stewart has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in swimming, and as a result, she won first place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:05.92 and third place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.05 and helped the 400-yard freestyle relay team win seventh place at this year's Division II State Championship meet; and

       WHEREAS,  MacKenzie Stewart's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coach, Dan Diaz, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to MacKenzie Stewart on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in swimming will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend MacKenzie Stewart on her personal success and salute her as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to MacKenzie Stewart.
