Senators Wagoner, Fedor 

Honoring Doug Merrill on completing the Run to the Keys.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Doug Merrill on the successful completion of the Run to the Keys; and

       WHEREAS,  Doug Merrill is a remarkable individual, for he has combined civic concern and dedication with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in the community. The former head coach of the Bowling Green High School baseball team, the founder of a nonprofit business, Power UP, and the Power UP Foundation, and the author of a book, Fighting the Demon of Suicide, he recently organized and completed a six-month journey on foot from Boston, Massachusetts, to Key West, Florida, to raise awareness and money for suicide prevention programs, and through his unfaltering devotion to this cause, he has distinguished himself as a conscientious and responsible Ohioan; and

       WHEREAS,  Doug Merrill has willingly given of his time, energy, and abilities, and he has striven to better the world around him. Through his generous contributions, he has earned the respect and esteem of many; and

       WHEREAS,  We are certain that in the years to come, Doug Merrill will continue to display the same unwavering commitment to excellence for which he has become known. Indeed, he is truly deserving of high praise for being such an inspiration to others; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Doug Merrill on his advocacy for suicide prevention and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Doug Merrill.
