A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Lima Central Catholic High School boys basketball team as the 2010 Division III State Champion.
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Lima Central Catholic High School boys basketball team on winning the 2010 Division III State Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the talented members of the Lima Central Catholic High School boys basketball team are, indeed, to be heartily commended, for by defeating a strong Orrville team in the finals, they have decisively earned this year's Division III State title. The 60-57 win by the Thunderbirds reflects an extraordinary collective effort by a gifted group of athletes. Without exception, they had prepared conscientiously in pursuit of victory, devoting countless hours to training and practice in order to ensure peak conditioning, and, clearly, this demanding regimen has paid handsome dividends; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Lima Central Catholic High School boys basketball team have epitomized the power, poise, and precision that befit true champions. To his credit, Coach Bob Seggerson has guided the squad with unwavering expertise and encouragement, and he merits enthusiastic praise for coaxing admirable performances out of the Thunderbirds in each competitive outing. Despite sometimes grueling pressure, they have consistently maintained their composure and morale, exhibiting strength, speed, stamina, and agility in every challenging encounter. Time and again, they have risen to the occasion, amply demonstrating their unflagging determination, and their impressive maturity and finesse have gained them widespread respect, even among their most formidable rivals; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to these fine athletes and their outstanding coach for a job well done. The maturity and experience the players have gained through participation in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Lima Central Catholic High School boys basketball team on its tremendous 2010 season and honor the players and coach as outstanding Ohioans; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Lima Central Catholic High School boys basketball team. |
