S. R. No. 273

128th General Assembly
Regular Session
2009-2010
S. R. No. 273

Senator Patton

A RESOLUTION
Honoring the City of Bay Village on its Two Hundredth Anniversary.

WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the City of Bay Village on its Bicentennial, October 10, 2010; and

WHEREAS,  The City of Bay Village began when the Joseph Cahoon family arrived here on October 10, 1810, and the community was incorporated into a village in 1903 and later became a city. Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting tribute to the city, for over the past two centuries, it has become known for its residents' cooperation, integrity, and willingness to work hard--exemplary qualities that are still manifested by its citizens today; and

WHEREAS,  Throughout its existence, Bay Village has enjoyed the benefits of a generous and civic-minded population, and those who currently make the city their home take great pride in their community and its rich heritage. Their efforts have, indeed, made the area a pleasant and friendly place in which to live and work; and

WHEREAS,  Two centuries after it was founded, the City of Bay Village remains a place of many engaging qualities. We are certain that, in the years to come, it will continue to grow and prosper; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the City of Bay Village on its Bicentennial and offer our best wishes for its perennial good fortune; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the City of Bay Village.
