Senators Carey, Wagoner 

Honoring Paul LaRue on winning the 2010 America the Story of Us Innovation in History Education contest.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Paul LaRue, a history teacher at Washington High School, on winning the high school category of the America the Story of Us Innovation in History Education contest, sponsored by the History channel; and

       WHEREAS,  A genuine champion of educational quality, Paul LaRue has excelled at making learning enjoyable for the students in his classroom. Receiving the Innovation in History Education grand prize is a fine reflection on him, and it is only fitting that someone with his outstanding talent and perseverance be recognized for the contributions he has made, again and again, to his profession; and

       WHEREAS,  A patient and generous individual, Paul LaRue has helped persuade many that history need not be intimidating or forbidding, and that this valuable, challenging subject can even be fun. Our society sorely needs dynamic teachers who inspire their students to set ambitious goals and high standards for themselves, and it is no surprise that Paul LaRue's earnest pursuit of this worthy objective has won him the respect and appreciation of the entire Washington Court House community; and

       WHEREAS,  Throughout Paul LaRue's career in education, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to performing his duties and fulfilling his responsibilities with exceptional creativity and the utmost competence. He merits praise for teaching history in an interesting, innovative manner, and clearly, he can be proud that his fine pedagogical example has inspired many of his colleagues to dedicate themselves similarly. Indeed, he has constructively shaped the lives of numerous young people by helping them to explore their interests and strengths so that they will be prepared to meet the challenges of the future with confidence and success; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Paul LaRue on winning the America the Story of Us Innovation in History Education contest and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Paul LaRue.
