Senators Harris, Goodman 

Honoring Richard L. Petrick on his retirement from the Ohio Board of Regents.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Richard L. Petrick on the memorable occasion of his retirement as vice chancellor for Finance and Data Management for the Ohio Board of Regents, August 31, 2010; and

       WHEREAS,  Throughout his distinguished career, Richard Petrick has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to performing his duties and fulfilling his responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and competence. The vice chancellor for Finance and Data Management for the Ohio Board of Regents and the vice chair of the Ohio Higher Education Facility Commission, he previously served as a researcher at the St. Paul, Minnesota Police Department, a political science instructor at SUNY-Stony Brook, an education finance analyst and division chief for the Legislative Budget Office, and a budget director and an associate vice chancellor for finance for the Ohio Board of Regents; and

       WHEREAS,  Richard Petrick is a remarkable individual, and he has combined civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in the State of Ohio. Always sincere and energetic in his approach to his work, he has given generously of his time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected and has displayed a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life in our society; and

       WHEREAS,  The enthusiasm and expertise Richard Petrick has shown in his endeavors have earned him the respect of all those with whom he has been associated. As he retires, he has the satisfaction of knowing that he has provided a valuable service to the state and has established a record of personal and professional achievement that will stand as a hallmark for others to emulate; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,   That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Richard L. Petrick on his retirement and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Richard L. Petrick.
