A RESOLUTION



Senators Harris, Buehrer, Cafaro, Carey, Cates, Coughlin, Fedor, Gibbs, Goodman, Grendell, Hughes, Jones, Miller, D., Morano, Niehaus, Patton, Sawyer, Schaffer, Schiavoni, Seitz, Smith, Stewart, Turner, Wagoner, Widener, Wilson 

Honoring Michael H. Cochran on his retirement.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Michael H. Cochran on the occasion of his retirement as executive director of the Ohio Township Association; and

       WHEREAS,  Throughout his distinguished career, Michael Cochran has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to performing his duties with the utmost efficiency and competence. A former high school social studies teacher and coach, he joined the Ohio Township Association in 1977, becoming its executive director in 1980, and he has also served in such roles as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Pickaway and Franklin counties, as law director for the City of Reynoldsburg, as president of Reynoldsburg City Council, and as a member of the Reynoldsburg City School Board of Education, the Ohio State Board of Education, and the Otterbein College Board of Trustees; and

       WHEREAS,  Michael Cochran is a remarkable individual, combining civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in the community. Always sincere and energetic in his approach to his work, he has given generously of his time and abilities far beyond what was required or expected and has displayed a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life in our society; and

       WHEREAS,   As he retires, he has the satisfaction of knowing that he has provided a valuable service to the state and has established a record of personal and professional achievement that will stand as a hallmark for others to emulate. We applaud him on his tremendous work; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Michael H. Cochran on his retirement and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Michael H. Cochran.
