A RESOLUTION | Honoring Jim Tressel on winning his one hundredth game as head coach of The Ohio State University football team. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Jim Tressel on the memorable occasion of his one hundredth victory as head coach of The Ohio State University football team; and |
| WHEREAS, The success of any athletic endeavor depends largely on the ability of coaches to provide both guidance and inspiration to the team members. As head coach of The Ohio State University football team, Jim Tressel has not only encouraged his players to develop their talents to the fullest but also instilled in each a valuable sense of teamwork, determination, perseverance, and good sportsmanship; and |
| WHEREAS, As a result of his exceptional coaching over the last ten seasons, he contributed greatly to the OSU football program, reaching a milestone of one hundred wins, as well as a national championship. These accomplishments are an excellent reflection not only on him and his fellow coaches but also on his players, on The Ohio State University, and on the City of Columbus; and |
| WHEREAS, Jim Tressel has displayed expertise, guidance, and sound judgment as the head coach of the Buckeyes football program, and his leadership has been critical to its success. The enthusiasm and generosity he has shown in his endeavors have earned him the respect and admiration of all those with whom he has worked; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Jim Tressel on his one hundredth win as head coach of The Ohio State University football team and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jim Tressel. |
