A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Oak Hill High School boys basketball team on winning the 2009 OHSAA Division IV State Championship.
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Oak Hill High School boys basketball team as the 2009 Division IV State Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Each member of the Oak Hill High School boys basketball team is an excellent young athlete, and Coach Norm Persin has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding this squad to victory. This season, the Oaks bested the team from Kalida High School by a score of 48-43 to win this year's Division IV State Championship title, and the unwavering commitment of the players and their coach has earned them this honor; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Oak Hill High School boys basketball team have established themselves as truly exceptional athletes, and they have emerged as winners both on and off the court. Norm Persin's skill as a coach is reflected in his squad's success, and he has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. The maturity and experience the Oaks have gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Oak Hill High School boys basketball team on its exemplary season and salute the players and coach as some of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Oak Hill High School boys basketball team. |
