Honoring the Northland High School Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Club as the 2009 Try-Math-alon USA Quiz Bowl national runner-up.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Northland High School Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Club on placing second in the nation in the 2009 Try-Math-alon USA Quiz Bowl; and

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Northland High School STEM Club are a remarkable group of young academicians, combining talent and competitive spirit with exceptional knowledge to establish themselves as truly exemplary students. With commendable dedication, they performed admirably against teams from across the United States, and as a result, they won second place in the nation in this year's Try-Math-alon USA Quiz Bowl. Throughout long hours of practice and preparation, the members have displayed a degree of determination and motivation of which they can be proud; and

       WHEREAS,  In preparing themselves for this important contest, the members of the Northland High School STEM Club have had the opportunity to develop and express their individual abilities and to acquire knowledge and information that will be of great benefit to them throughout their lives. Having worked diligently to sharpen their skills, they confronted competition with confidence and enthusiasm and distinguished themselves as worthy representatives of their school, community, and state; and

       WHEREAS,  The success of the Northland High School STEM Club is a justifiable source of pride not only for the students but also for their advisors, their families, their school, and their community. The maturity and experience the members have gained through their participation in this exciting activity will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Northland High School Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Club for outstanding achievement and salute the members and advisors as some of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Northland High School Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Club.
