WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize May 3-9, 2009, as National Charter Schools Week; and |
WHEREAS, Education is vital to our nation's continued economic and social well-being, and as the need for global learning and understanding increases, so do the demands placed upon our system of education. Over the years, Ohio's charter schools have striven to consistently and effectively meet these demands; and |
WHEREAS, Schools are faced with the challenges of preparing young people to assume meaningful, productive roles in our complex society. It is the mission of Ohio's charter schools to help students establish a foundation upon which they can build a productive and rewarding future; and |
WHEREAS, Schools provide young people with much more than basic educational skills, and by participating in the many activities of the school day, children learn the value of such important qualities as cooperation, self-discipline, and perseverance. Through the efforts of educators and administrators, Ohio's charter schools have made significant contributions to improving the quality of life in our society; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize May 3-9, 2009, as National Charter Schools Week; and be it further |
