S. R. No. 58

A RESOLUTION

Senator Buehrer

Honoring the Tinora High School boys basketball team as the 2009 Division III State runner-up.
WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Tinora High School boys basketball team on finishing second in the 2009 Division III State Tournament; and

WHEREAS,  A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the Tinora High School boys basketball team have combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish themselves as a truly exceptional squad. With admirable dedication, the Rams have worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in basketball, and as a result, they won the Green Meadows Conference Championship, placed second in this year's Division III State Tournament, and finished the season with an impressive 23-4 record, their best mark in school history; and

WHEREAS,  The Rams' achievements and leadership are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the players, their families, their school, their community, and their coach. The success of any athletic endeavor depends largely on the ability of the coach to provide both guidance and inspiration, and in leading his team to victory, Coach Rob Mahnke has not only helped each athlete to develop his talents to the fullest but also instilled in each a valuable sense of determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and

WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to these fine athletes and their outstanding coach for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have gained through participation in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Tinora High School boys basketball team on its tremendous season and salute the players and coach as some of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Tinora High School boys basketball team.

I, Vincent L. Keeran, hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of Senate Resolution No. 58, adopted by the Ohio Senate, May 19, 2009.
