A RESOLUTION
Representatives Szollosi, Fedor
Honoring Anthony Dodd as a 2011 Division IV-V-VI State Powerlifting Champion.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Anthony Dodd on winning the 2011 Division IV-V-VI State Powerlifting Championship in the 210-pound weight class; and |
| WHEREAS, A senior at Toledo Christian High School, Anthony Dodd has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently to attain ultimate proficiency in powerlifting, and as a result, he won the 2011 Division IV-V-VI State Powerlifting Championship title in the 210-pound weight class, which included a 675-pound squat, a 325-pound bench press, and a 575-pound deadlift, and set records in the squat and deadlift; and |
| WHEREAS, Anthony Dodd's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of athletic competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his coaches, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him the respect and esteem of many, and he is certainly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Anthony Dodd on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in powerlifting will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Anthony Dodd on his personal success and salute him as one of Ohio's finest young athletes; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Anthony Dodd. |
