A RESOLUTION



Representative Clyde 

Honoring Matthew Pfleger as a 2011 MAC Outdoor Track and Field Champion.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Matthew Pfleger on winning the hammer throw title at the 2011 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship; and

       WHEREAS,  A senior at Kent State University, Matthew Pfleger has successfully combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in throwing, and as a result, he achieved a season-best toss of 209-8 to win this year's hammer throw crown at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship, his second such title in the past three years; and 

       WHEREAS,  Matthew Pfleger's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of athletic competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his coaches, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him the respect and esteem of many, and he is certainly deserving of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Matthew Pfleger on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in track and field will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Matthew Pfleger on his personal success and salute him as one of Ohio's finest athletes; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Matthew Pfleger.
