Representatives Garland, Heard
Honoring Charlotte Myers as a 2011 Division II State Track and Field Champion.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Charlotte Myers, a senior at Bexley High School, on winning the 2011 Division II State Track and Field Championship in the 400-meter dash; and |
| WHEREAS, Charlotte Myers' accomplishments are truly noteworthy, for she has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her mental and physical fortitude as a runner. She has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, including courage, integrity, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship, and as a result, she placed first in the 400-meter dash at this year's Division II State Track and Field Championships with a time of 55.87; and |
| WHEREAS, By developing such remarkable prowess, Charlotte Myers has earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Her outstanding record of achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation, and she has inspired countless individuals to excel in numerous areas of endeavor; and |
| WHEREAS, Running is an event that requires exceptional stamina and natural ability, and Charlotte Myers is to be commended for her commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining her athletic goals, she has certainly distinguished herself as a true champion; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Charlotte Myers on her personal success and salute her as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Charlotte Myers. |
