Representative Heard 

Honoring David A. Eyerman on receiving the Ohio Fire Service Valor Award.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to David A. Eyerman on being presented with the 2011 Ohio Fire Service Valor Award; and

       WHEREAS,  Selection for this prestigious distinction demonstrates the high esteem in which David Eyerman is widely held and recognizes him for his exceptional act of heroism. This remarkable tribute acknowledges the valiant conduct that he displayed on April 20, 2010, where, at great personal risk to himself, he aided in the rescue of a fellow firefighter who had become trapped in the basement of a burning building after falling through an unstable floor. Indeed, he has set an example for others to emulate; and 

       WHEREAS,  David Eyerman has responded admirably to one of society's most critical needs by faithfully serving as a member of Ladder 24 of the Columbus Division of Fire. Whenever a challenge has confronted him, he has met it with skill and resolve, performing his duties in a manner that has always surpassed even the most demanding expectations. His approach to a variety of formidable tasks has always been distinguished by the utmost competence and dedication, and his strength of character is reflected not only in his choice of occupation but also in his decisive leadership; and

       WHEREAS,  David Eyerman's inspirational actions identify him as a highly disciplined professional and a genuine hero. Clearly, he has exhibited unflinching composure in the face of adversity, and he can be proud that his courage, initiative, and perseverance under hazardous conditions have set a fine example for his peers. It is no surprise that his strength of character has won him a host of admirers; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate David Eyerman for exceptional accomplishment and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to David A. Eyerman.
