A RESOLUTION



  Speaker Batchelder  Representative Brenner 

Honoring Trooper Larry R. Bowman for outstanding service to our state and nation.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Trooper Larry R. Bowman for his service as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps and Reserve and the Ohio State Highway Patrol; and

       WHEREAS,  Larry Bowman is deserving of high praise, for he has combined civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Gulf War and a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, he was serving as a sergeant with the 3rd Platoon, Company L, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines, 4th Marine Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom when he was wounded in the line of duty, and he has since been active with the Wounded Warrior Program. Through his decisive leadership and unfaltering devotion to service and achievement, he has distinguished himself as a conscientious and hard-working Ohioan; and 

       WHEREAS,  A remarkable individual, Larry Bowman joined the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 2000, serving with the Granville Post before being assigned to plain clothes investigations with the District 6 Headquarters, and he is the recipient of an Ace Award. Under difficult circumstances, his indomitable nature has enabled him to persevere, and with the help of those who have offered guidance and encouragement, he has managed to excel in a variety of ways. His numerous triumphs have made many people extremely proud; and

       WHEREAS,  The heroic traditions of our armed forces are an important part of our nation's heritage. Giving freely of his time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, Larry Bowman earned the respect and admiration of all those with whom he served and the gratitude of Americans everywhere. As he reflects on his military tenure and civic service, he has the satisfaction of knowing that he provided a valuable service to our state and country and established a record of achievement worthy of emulation; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Trooper Larry R. Bowman for exemplary service and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Trooper Larry R. Bowman.
