A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Sylvania Northview High School hockey team on winning the 2012 OHSAA State Championship.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Sylvania Northview High School hockey team as the 2012 Ohio High School Athletic Association State Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Each member of the Sylvania Northview High School hockey team is an excellent young athlete, and Coach Mike Jones has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding this squad to victory. This season, the Wildcats bested the Lakewood St. Edward High School team by a score of 5-2 to win the 2012 OHSAA State Championship. The unwavering commitment of the players and their coach has earned them this prestigious distinction, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Sylvania Northview High School hockey team have emerged as winners both in and out of athletic competition. Mike Jones' skill as a coach is reflected in their outstanding accomplishment, and due largely to his tireless efforts, he has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the Sylvania Northview High School hockey team have learned lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Sylvania Northview High School hockey team as the 2012 OHSAA State Champion and salute all those who contributed to its success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Sylvania Northview High School hockey team. |
