A RESOLUTION



Representatives Conditt, Combs, Derickson 

Honoring the Fort Hamilton District of the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America on its Centennial.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Fort Hamilton District of the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America on the auspicious occasion of its One Hundredth Anniversary; and

       WHEREAS,  Established to build character, citizenship, and physical fitness, the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America was the result of the consolidation of four original councils, and its Fort Hamilton District has instilled in young men the life skills that enable them to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. For the past century, the district has certainly established itself as an exemplary organization by upholding the principles of trustworthiness and good citizenship, and today, there are more than thirty-three thousand youth and over ten thousand adults associated with the groups; and 

       WHEREAS,  Boy Scouting combines the wisdom and leadership of adults with the enthusiasm and optimism of youth so that our young people will be better prepared to meet the challenges of the future. Since its founding, the Fort Hamilton District of the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America has enhanced the quality of life in our state and nation by remaining committed to diversity and inclusiveness, and we are certain that the program will continue to follow in the tradition of excellence that has become its hallmark; and

       WHEREAS,  The Fort Hamilton District of the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America has shown a sincere dedication to area youth by promoting citizenship and individual achievement, and through participation in numerous educational, recreational, social, and community service programs, its members have not only had an opportunity to explore their interests, develop new skills, and increase their knowledge of the world around them, but they have also demonstrated the potential of all people to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society. This fine organization has attained a praiseworthy record of continuous service, and its accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on its members and leaders, both past and present, and on the communities where they live and work; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Fort Hamilton District of the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America on its Centennial and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Fort Hamilton District of the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
