Honoring the Lebanon High School drumline on being named National Champions.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Lebanon High School drumline on winning the 2012 Sport of the Arts national competition, sponsored by Winter Guard International; and |
| WHEREAS, A talented group of young people, the Lebanon High School drumline, a division of the LHS marching band, has distinguished itself as one of the finest high school percussion ensembles in the country. Under the able leadership of Director Frank Iannelli and Assistant Director Nick Pelfrey, the students won this year's Sport of the Arts national competition. Throughout long hours of practice and competition, the band members have displayed exceptional musical ability, as well as the confidence, training, and discipline that helped them earn this well-deserved accolade; and |
| WHEREAS, Participation in a high school band provides a unique opportunity for students to develop their musical skills and to enjoy a special camaraderie, while learning the true value of preparation, practice, and cooperation. The members of the Lebanon High School drumline have worked tirelessly to make it one of Ohio's best, and they are, indeed, deserving of high praise.; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Lebanon High School drumline have consistently demonstrated the talent, dedication, confidence, and motivation that are the hallmarks of true champions, and we are pleased to pay tribute to these fine musicians on their achievements. The maturity and experience that they have gained through their participation in this competition will undoubtedly assist them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Lebanon High School drumline on its tremendous success and salute its members and directors as fine Ohio citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Lebanon High School drumline. |
