A RESOLUTION
Honoring Karena Fulks as the 2012 OHSAA Division II State Long Jump Champion.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Karena Fulks as the 2012 Division II State Champion in the long jump; and |
| WHEREAS, A senior at Jackson High School, Karena Fulks has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in track and field, and as a result, she won first place in the long jump at this year's Division II State Meet with a leap of 18 feet, 5 inches; and |
| WHEREAS, Karena Fulks' accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coach, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Karena Fulks on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in track and field will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Karena Fulks as the 2012 Division II State Long Jump Champion and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Karena Fulks. |
