A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Solon High School chess team as the 2012 State Champion.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Solon High School chess team on winning the 2012 State Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Solon High School chess team are a remarkable group of young academicians, combining talent and competitive spirit with exceptional knowledge of chess to win this year's State Championship, their first such title in school history. Throughout long hours of practice and training, the students have displayed a degree of determination and motivation of which they can be proud; and |
| WHEREAS, In preparing themselves for competition, the members of the Solon High School chess team have acquired abilities that will be of great benefit to them throughout their lives. Participation in an activity such as this provides an opportunity for youth to strive for excellence, and members Peter Shi, Jigar Saraiya, Sharan Subramanian, Reid Fu, Kyle Qian, Savva Madar, Gabe Baznik, Kevin Ye, Roman Isakov, Chris Abraham, Ian Chan, and Luv Jain have admirably succeeded; and |
| WHEREAS, The achievements of the Solon High School chess team are an outstanding reflection not only on the members but also on their families, their coach, Sean Yee, their school, and their community. The maturity and experience that the students have gained through their study of chess will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Solon High School chess team on its accomplishment and salute the members and coach as some of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Solon High School chess team. |
