A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Kent State University men's golf team on winning the 2012 Mid-American Conference Championship.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Kent State University men's golf team as the 2012 Mid-American Conference Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Each member of the Kent State University men's golf team is an excellent young athlete, and Kent State University's director of golf and head coach, Herb Page, has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding this squad to victory. This season, the Golden Rushes won their fourth consecutive MAC championship and twentieth league title with a total score of 855, and the unwavering commitment of the members and their coach has earned them this prestigious distinction. They are certainly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Kent State University men's golf team have established themselves as a truly exceptional group, and they have emerged as winners both in and out of competition. Herb Page's skill as a coach is reflected in the outstanding success of Golden Rushes, and due largely to his tireless efforts, he has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the Kent State University men's golf team have learned lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Kent State University men's golf team as the 2012 Mid-American Conference Champion and salute all those who contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Kent State University men's golf team. |
