A RESOLUTION
Honoring Jesse Oxley as the 2012 OHSAA Division III State Pole Vault Champion.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Jesse Oxley on winning the 2012 OHSAA Division III State Championship in the pole vault; and |
| WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Jesse Oxley has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well as his mental and physical fortitude in the pole vault. As this year's Division III State Champion, with the winning jump of fifteen feet, he has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world--courage, determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and |
| WHEREAS, In displaying such exceptional prowess as a senior member of the Berne Union High School track and field team, Jesse Oxley has earned the appreciation of his fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even his most determined rivals. Competition in athletics has enabled him to learn much about dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge his exceptional record of achievement; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Jesse Oxley on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in track and field will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Jesse Oxley on his athletic accomplishment and salute him as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jesse Oxley. |
