A RESOLUTION

Honoring Dr. Kenneth A. Yowell on his retirement.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Dr. Kenneth A. Yowell on his innumerable contributions as president of Edison Community College; and

       WHEREAS,  Throughout twenty-two years of outstanding service, Kenneth Yowell has completed an array of challenging duties with genuine distinction, proving himself to be a tireless champion of scholastic excellence and a top-notch administrator. Since assuming the presidency in 1988, he has enthusiastically demonstrated a profound commitment to education, and he has brought to this post a wealth of experience gained from serving in numerous leadership roles, including vice president of academic and student affairs at Atlantic Community College, president of the Council of North Central Two-year Colleges and the Ohio College Association, and dean of two Iowa colleges; and 

       WHEREAS,  Kenneth Yowell is, indeed, a remarkable individual, inspiring trust and confidence by motivating students and faculty alike to set ambitious goals and high standards for themselves, and without question, he has been one of Ohio's most precious assets. Always sincere and energetic in his approach to his work, he has given generously of his time and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, and he has displayed a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life in our society; and

       WHEREAS,   The enthusiasm and expertise Kenneth Yowell has shown in all of his endeavors have earned him the respect of all those with whom he has worked. As he retires, he has the satisfaction of knowing that his efforts will not be forgotten, and that the fine character, keen intellect, and decisive leadership he embodied will be sorely missed; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Dr. Kenneth Yowell on his record of service and extend best wishes for health and happiness; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Dr. Kenneth A. Yowell.
