A RESOLUTION
Honoring Karrington Pettiford-Winters as a 2012 Division I State Track and Field Champion.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Karrington Pettiford-Winters on placing first in the 400-meter dash at the 2012 Division I State Track and Field Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, A freshman at New Albany High School, Karrington Pettiford-Winters has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in track and field, and as a result, she won the 2012 Division I State Championship in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.95; and |
| WHEREAS, Karrington Pettiford-Winters' accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Karrington Pettiford-Winters on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience that she has gained through her participation in sports will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Karrington Pettiford-Winters for outstanding achievement and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
