A RESOLUTION
Honoring Ameryst Alston as the 2012 Ms. Basketball for Ohio.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Ameryst Alston on being selected as the 2012 Ms. Basketball for Ohio by The Associated Press; and |
| WHEREAS, Ameryst Alston is deserving of recognition for her outstanding success as a member of the McKinley High School girls basketball team. A fine young athlete, she received All-Ohio first-team, All-Federal League, Northeast Ohio and The Repository player of the year, and Girls Got Game, Akron Beacon Journal, and The Repository player of the week honors, and for her prowess on the court, she was named this year's Ms. Basketball for Ohio for the second consecutive year, one of only four people to achieve such a feat. Indeed, her record of personal attainment is noteworthy; and |
| WHEREAS, Ameryst Alston exemplifies all of the characteristics that are essential to succeed in sports, including talent and dedication, as well as mental and physical fortitude as an athlete. Because of her personal motivation and unique combination of talents, she is certainly destined for a bright future; and |
| WHEREAS, Ameryst Alston's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her Ms. Basketball honors, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, honor Ameryst Alston on her recent accolade and extend best wishes for the years to come; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Ameryst Alston. |
