A RESOLUTION
Honoring Brittany Lawson as a 2012 Irish Cup Grand Champion and a National Champion in Karate.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Brittany Lawson on being named the Junior Competitor Grand Champion in Karate at the 2012 Irish Cup and the short weapon forms champion at the 2012 USA National Karate-do Federation Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, A student at the Doug Yates Karate School, Brittany Lawson has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. At this year's Irish Cup, she earned a gold medal in the weapon forms event and silver medals in the forms, fighting, and junior team fighting events to win the overall Irish Cup in the junior competitor division and be crowned the Junior Competitor Grand Champion, and then at the USANKF Championship, she earned a gold medal in the short weapon forms event and bronze medals in the forms and fighting events. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has certainly earned her these distinctions; and |
| WHEREAS, Brittany Lawson is worthy of acknowledgement for the formidable athletic gifts and the competitive spirit that she has so amply revealed as a standout martial artist. Through her exemplary efforts, she has inspired countless individuals to excel in various areas of endeavor, and she is deserving of the highest praise; and |
| WHEREAS, By developing such exceptional prowess as a martial artist, Brittany Lawson has gained the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Participation in Karate has enabled her to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and leadership, and it is no surprise that she has won so many admirers; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, honor Brittany Lawson for outstanding achievement and extend best wishes for a bright, rewarding future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Brittany Lawson. |
