H. R. No. 463  As Adopted

A RESOLUTION

Representative Hayes

Honoring John Adams on being named the 2011 ODRC Parole Officer of the Year.
WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to John Adams on receiving the 2011 Parole Officer of the Year Award from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction; and

WHEREAS,  John Adams is truly worthy of recognition, and congratulations are certainly in order. Commencing his career with ODRC as a correction officer in 1990, he transferred to the Adult Parole Authority in 1997, working in several units and institutions and as a temporary work level supervisor before being promoted to senior officer in 2012, and he has been a trainer in PR-24, unarmed self-defense, firearms, Oleoresin Capsicum, special impact munitions, and use of force and served as an instructor trainer in many of these techniques; and

WHEREAS,  Throughout his career, John Adams has fulfilled his myriad duties with the utmost efficiency and competence. Being selected as Ohio's Parole Officer of the Year is a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on him, but also on his family, his supervisors, his colleagues, his department, and his community; and

WHEREAS,  At a time when many people are content to take a passive role in life, John Adams has chosen a vocation through which he has often risked his own safety to ensure the well-being of his fellow citizens, and his enthusiasm and devotion to duty have earned him the respect and gratitude of his peers and of the community he has so capably served; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend John Adams for outstanding accomplishment and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to John Adams.
