Honoring Carol Fitzsimons as a 2012 Transplant Games of America medalist.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Carol Fitzsimons on winning one bronze, three silver, and two gold medals in swimming at the 2012 Transplant Games of America; and

       WHEREAS,  Carol Fitzsimons is truly worthy of these noteworthy accolades, which acknowledge her remarkable talents and strengths and reflect the self-discipline and determination that she has exhibited in the face of what for many would have seemed insurmountable obstacles. The recipient of a kidney transplant in 2001, she won gold medals in the 500-yard and 200-yard freestyle events, silver medals in the 50-yard butterfly and 4x50-yard freestyle and medley relay events, and a bronze medal in the 200-yard individual medley event at this year's Transplant Games of America, and it is easy to understand why her engaging personality and tenacious resolve have won her such a host of admirers; and 

       WHEREAS,  Under difficult circumstances, Carol Fitzsimons' indomitable nature has enabled her to persevere, and with the help of those who have offered guidance and encouragement, she has managed to excel in a variety of ways. To her credit, she has prevailed in the face of adversity, and her triumph has made many people extremely proud; and

       WHEREAS,  Despite sometimes grueling pressure, Carol Fitzsimons has consistently maintained her composure and morale, exhibiting strength, speed, and stamina in every challenging encounter. Time and again, she has risen to the occasion, amply demonstrating her unflagging determination, and she has set an example for others to emulate; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Carol Fitzsimons for exemplary achievement and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Carol Fitzsimons.
