A RESOLUTION
Honoring Lexi Aughenbaugh on winning the 3,200-meter run at the 2012 Division IState Track and Field Championships.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Lexi Aughenbaugh as a 2012 Division I State Track and field Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Lexi Aughenbaugh is deserving of acknowledgment for the formidable athletic gifts and the competitive spirit that she has so amply revealed throughout this past season as a standout for the Notre Dame Academy track and field squad. Among her achievements, she placed first in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:44.58, her personal best, and to her credit, she could always be counted on not only to shine individually but also to contribute significantly to her teammates' collective effort. Commendably, she has exhibited the skill, strength, agility, and stamina that befit a genuine champion, and it is no surprise that she has won so many admirers; and |
| WHEREAS, Few sports embody the spirit of individual accomplishment more than running, and athletes such as Lexi Aughenbaugh exemplify the qualities necessary for excellence in any sport, including discipline, agility, conditioning, and focus. Indeed, throughout long hours of practice and preparation, she has consistently shown the talent and motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion; and |
| WHEREAS, By developing such exceptional prowess as a runner, Lexi Aughenbaugh has earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Participation in high school sports has enabled her to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and leadership, and in the process, she has made her family, friends, and community very proud; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Lexi Aughenbaugh on her tremendous performance in state competition and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Lexi Aughenbaugh. |
