A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the Honorable Ralph M. Hall on the unveiling of his official portrait.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Honorable Ralph M. Hall on the unveiling of his official portrait by the United States Capitol Historical Society, November 27, 2012; and |
| WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished tenure as a member of the United States House of Representatives, Ralph Hall has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to performing his duties and fulfilling his responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and competence. Elected to represent the 4th District of Texas in 1980 and re-elected to each succeeding Congress, he has ably served as a member of various committees, including chairing the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology since 2011, and with commendable determination and resolve, he has brought his talents and experience to bear on the ever-changing needs and issues of this venerable institution; and |
| WHEREAS, Ralph Hall has given willingly of his time and energy far beyond what was required or expected and has displayed a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life in our society. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and an attorney, he operated a private law practice for many years, and he was politically active as a judge of Rockwall County for twelve years and a member of the Texas Senate for ten years. In his business career, he served as president and chief executive officer of the Texas Aluminum Corporation, general counsel of the Texas Extrusion Company, a founding member and chairman of Lakeside National Bank, chairman of Lakeside News, Inc., and counsel for the Howmet Corporation. He is a truly concerned and responsible public servant, and we are proud to note that it is through the efforts of conscientious individuals such as he that our nation continues to prosper; and |
| WHEREAS, Election to public office is one of the highest honors that the people in a democracy can bestow upon a fellow citizen. Throughout his service as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Ralph Hall has consistently maintained a high degree of achievement and has displayed a level of integrity and commitment that has earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues on both sides of the political aisle. Whether engaged in floor debate or in committee deliberations, he has brought a full measure of enthusiasm, intelligence, and public spirit to his duties and has effectively served his constituents and the State of Texas; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Honorable Ralph M. Hall on the unveiling of his official portrait and extend best wishes for the years to come; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Honorable Ralph M. Hall. |
