A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Marion Local High School football team as the 2012 Division VI State Champion.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Marion Local High School football team on winning the 2012 Division VI State Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, Each member of the Marion Local High School football team is an excellent young athlete, and Coach Tim Goodwin has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding this squad to victory. This season, the Flyers bested the team from Newark Catholic High School by a score of 28-21 to win this year's Division VI State Championship, their sixth state title, and they finished the season with a 13-2 record. The unwavering commitment of the members and their coach has earned them this prestigious distinction, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Marion Local High School football team have established themselves as a truly exceptional squad, and they have emerged as winners both in and out of athletic competition. Tim Goodwin's skill as a coach is reflected in their outstanding success, and due largely to his tireless efforts, he has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the Marion Local High School football team have learned lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Marion Local High School football team as the 2012 Division VI State Champion and salute all those who contributed to the success of this fine group; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Marion Local High School football team. |
