Honoring Thomas L. Sherman for outstanding service to the State of Ohio.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Thomas L. Sherman on the occasion of his retirement as deputy clerk of the Ohio House of Representatives; and |
WHEREAS, Tom Sherman is a remarkable individual, for he has combined civic concern and dedication with selfless initiative during more than thirty years of state government service. A former night janitor and page, he served as an attorney with the Ohio Legislative Service Commission, deputy director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Office of Budget and Management, executive director of the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review, and government relations officer for the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System before being appointed clerk of the Ohio House of Representatives in 2009 and deputy clerk in 2011, and he has performed his duties and fulfilled his responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and competence. He is deserving of high praise; and |
WHEREAS, Over the years, Tom Sherman has given generously of his time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected and has demonstrated a noteworthy commitment to the success of state government. He has provided a valuable service by helping to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the legislative process, and without the efforts of individuals such as he, many services that are currently available to the constituents of our state would cease to exist; and |
WHEREAS, Tom Sherman's contributions to the State of Ohio have been greatly appreciated by all those who have had the pleasure of working with him. He has displayed exceptional devotion, responsibility, and enthusiasm in his endeavors, and we extend best wishes for health and happiness in the years to come; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Thomas L. Sherman on his exemplary state service and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Thomas L. Sherman. |
