A RESOLUTION

Representative Grossman

WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Solutions for Patient Safety on being honored by the United States Department of Health and Human Services; and

WHEREAS,  This prestigious distinction is a fitting tribute to Solutions for Patient Safety, for since its inception in January 2009, this partnership between the Cardinal Health Foundation, the Ohio Business Roundtable, the Central Ohio Hospital Council, the Ohio Hospital and Children's Hospital associations, and twenty-five hospitals throughout Ohio has attained a remarkable record of service to the state. Working to improve quality and patient safety, the initiative has reduced adverse drug events and infections, resulting in fewer patient days spent in the hospital, more lives saved, and lower health care costs, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has recognized it as a best practice in its National Quality Strategy; and

WHEREAS,  The accomplishments of Solutions for Patient Safety are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on the organization itself but also on its dedicated partners. We are certain that as this worthy collaboration maintains its dedication to service, it will continue in the tradition of excellence that has become its hallmark, and it is truly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS,  Solutions for Patient Safety has enhanced the quality of life in our society, and its generous efforts have earned it the respect and gratitude of many. We are proud to note that it is through the contributions of organizations such as this that Ohio has gained a reputation as a state that is responsive to the needs of its citizens and has remained a pleasant place in which to live and work; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Solutions for Patient Safety for exemplary achievement and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Solutions for Patient Safety.
