A RESOLUTION | Honoring Donovan Robertson as the 2010-2011 Gatorade Ohio Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Donovan Robertson on being named the 2010-2011 Gatorade Ohio Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year; and |
| WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Donovan Robertson has clearly demonstrated his athletic talent and perseverance, as well as his academic prowess and service to the community, including holding a 3.59 grade point average and volunteering for a local youth soccer program and at an area hospital. As this year's Division I State Champion in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles and the runner-up in the 200-meter dash, he has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, such as courage, determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and |
| WHEREAS, In displaying such exceptional ability as a member of the Berea High School track and field team, Donovan Robertson has earned the appreciation of his fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even his most determined rivals. Competition in athletics has enabled him to learn much about dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge his outstanding record of achievement; and |
| WHEREAS, Track and field is a sport that requires exemplary stamina and natural skill, and Donovan Robertson is to be commended for his commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining his athletic and academic goals, he has made his family, friends, and community very proud; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute Donovan Robertson as the 2010-2011 Gatorade Ohio Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Donovan Robertson. |
