A RESOLUTION | Honoring Lieutenant Steven Helton as a 2011 President's Volunteer Service Gold Award winner. |
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Lieutenant Steven Helton on being presented with a 2011 President's Volunteer Service Gold Award by President Barack Obama; and |
WHEREAS, Steven Helton's superlative record of service is one of which he can be justifiably proud, for he has brought the full measure of his enthusiasm and public spirit to all of his endeavors. He has combined civic concern and dedication with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in the Loveland area, and this esteemed accolade has been accorded to him for his involvement with the U.S. armed forces, currently serving as an intelligence and training officer with the reserve military police unit, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Hamilton Fire Department, where he served as deputy chief, and the Loveland Fire Department; and |
WHEREAS, In addition, Steven Helton is credited with establishing many of the paramedic systems that exist in Southwest Ohio, including Westchester Township, as well as serving as one of the first paramedics in Mason, Springdale, Sharonville, and Loveland. Through his unfaltering devotion to service and achievement, he has distinguished himself as a conscientious and hard-working Ohioan; and |
WHEREAS, Steven Helton has willingly volunteered more than four thousand hours of his time, and he has striven to better the world around him. Indeed, his generous efforts have earned him the respect and gratitude of many. Through his untiring compassion and diligence, he has made innumerable contributions to his community, the State of Ohio, and our country, and he has been an inspiration to others; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Lieutenant Steven Helton on his exemplary service and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Lieutenant Steven Helton. |
