A RESOLUTION
Honoring Jean Miller Latimer on her One Hundredth Birthday.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Jean Miller Latimer on the memorable occasion of her One Hundredth Birthday, March 4, 2011; and |
WHEREAS, Jean Latimer's birthday serves as a reminder of the love and affection which her family and friends have for her, and it is also a time when she can reflect on the many and varied events of her life and take pride in her accomplishments and in her contributions to the community. Active with the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. since 1923, she has served as a leader, a trainer, the troop representative to regional conferences, a member of the board and Finance Committee, and a president of the Lake Erie and former Cleveland councils, and she has received such accolades as the Thanks Badge and the Thanks Badge II. Diligent and painstaking in all of her endeavors, she has the satisfaction of knowing that she has set an example of service and achievement worthy of emulation; and |
WHEREAS, Throughout the past one hundred years, Jean Latimer has witnessed from a unique vantage point the dynamic growth which our country has undergone during the second century of its existence. Certainly, her life has been filled with many richly rewarding experiences, for she has lived through social and technological changes which have had a profound effect on the course of our nation's history and development; and |
WHEREAS, Willingly sharing her time, energy, and abilities with her family, friends, and neighbors, Jean Latimer has clearly shown the potential of individuals to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society, and she has enriched the lives of everyone who has known her over the years. She has always used her talents to the benefit of others, and she is, indeed, deserving of high praise; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Jean Miller Latimer on her One Hundredth Birthday and salute her as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jean Miller Latimer. |
