A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Findlay High School We the People team on winning the 2012 We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution State Championship.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Findlay High School We the People team on winning first place at the 2012 We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution State Championship; and

       WHEREAS,  Unsurpassed in knowledge, composure, and creativity, the Findlay High School We the People team gave a brilliant performance at the 2012 state tournament to win first place and to earn the right to represent Ohio at the We the People National Finals, and its impressive finish signifies tremendous accomplishment. These young scholars devoted countless hours to rigorous training in order to be in peak mental condition, and under the pressures of competition, they rose to the occasion with a truly exceptional showing. It is not surprising that their victory in the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution competition has won them a host of admirers, even among their most determined rivals; and

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Findlay High School We the People team have amply proven themselves to be innovative, articulate, and tenacious. They are to be commended not only for their grasp of a formidable amount of challenging material but also for their poise, confidence, and mental agility, for throughout the event, the team members displayed remarkable insight, ingenuity, and resolve. Their thorough preparation was evident at every point in the contest, and they merit praise for their triumph in the face of stiff opposition. To their credit, their genuine passion for learning and effective problem-solving has set a fine example for their peers; and

       WHEREAS,  The We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution tournaments acknowledge academic excellence, showcase both individual and collective proficiency, foster interest in a variety of scholastic pursuits, and promote support among parents and other community members for the efforts of some of the area's most gifted and diligent students. Each stimulating intellectual exercise offers valuable lessons about concentration, self-discipline, and perseverance, and by mastering these, the members of the Findlay High School team have made many people very proud; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Findlay High School We the People team for outstanding achievement and wish its members a bright, rewarding future; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Findlay High School We the People team.
