A RESOLUTION



Senators Patton, Eklund, LaRose, Manning, Obhof, Skindell, Smith, Turner 

Honoring K. Michael Benz on his retirement from the United Way of Greater Cleveland.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend K. Michael Benz on your innumerable contributions to the United Way of Greater Cleveland; and

       WHEREAS,  Michael Benz is a remarkable individual, for he has combined civic concern and dedication with selfless initiative to become the dynamic leader of the United Way of Greater Cleveland. He previously served as the director of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the executive vice president of the Greater Cleveland Growth Association, and the executive director of COSE before commencing his post as president and chief executive officer of the United Way of Greater Cleveland, and under his direction, the agency has implemented GuitarMania®. In addition, he is also active with such organizations as Cuyahoga Community College and its foundation, the City of Cleveland/Cuyahoga County Workforce Investment Board, and several United Way Worldwide national committees; and

       WHEREAS,  Without question, Michael Benz has given generously of his time, energy, and abilities to assist the United Way of Greater Cleveland and has demonstrated a noteworthy commitment to the success of this agency. He has performed his duties and fulfilled his responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and competence, and he is deserving of high praise, for he has provided a valuable service by helping to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of this organization; and

       WHEREAS,  The enthusiasm and expertise that Michael Benz has shown in all of his endeavors have earned him the respect of all those with whom he has worked. In the wake of his retirement, he can be assured that his contributions will not be forgotten and that he will be sorely missed; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, we applaud K. Michael Benz on his record of service and extend best wishes for ongoing success in his future endeavors; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to K. Michael Benz.
