A RESOLUTION



Senators Cates, Bacon, Beagle, Daniels, Faber, Gillmor, Grendell, Hughes, Jones, Jordan, LaRose, Lehner, Manning, Niehaus, Oelslager, Patton, Sawyer, Schaffer, Schiavoni, Seitz, Smith, Stewart, Turner, Wagoner, Widener, Wilson, Skindell, Hite, Obhof, Tavares 

Recognizing John A. Boehner as the 61st Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.
       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Honorable John A. Boehner on being elected speaker of the United States House of Representatives; and

       WHEREAS,  Throughout his career in public service, John Boehner has demonstrated an unwavering belief in the principles of democracy and has worked diligently to uphold the finest traditions of American politics. Serving as a trustee for Union Township from 1982 to 1984 and a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1984 to 1990, he has been a member of the United States House of Representatives since 1991, and he has, over the years, become a respected and influential force in the federal government; and

       WHEREAS,  John Boehner's love for the Great State of Ohio and his sincere desire to serve the public to the best of his ability have distinguished him as a truly concerned and responsible citizen. He has earned the well-deserved esteem of all who know him for his sense of fairness and his commitment to excellence throughout his legislative career; and

       WHEREAS,  John Boehner has consistently maintained a high record of achievement, which has merited him the respect and admiration of colleagues on both sides of the political aisle. Whether engaged in floor debate or in committee deliberations, he has brought the full measure of his energy, intelligence, and public spirit to his duties and has effectively served his constituency. Indeed, his perseverance, compassion, and high personal standards stand as an inspiration to us all; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Honorable John A. Boehner on his recent election and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Honorable John A. Boehner.
