Regular Session
2011-2012
S. R. No. 327

Senator Widener

A RESOLUTION
Honoring the 251st Cyber Engineering Installation Group of the Ohio Air National Guard as the top nonflying unit of the Air National Guard.

WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the 251st Cyber Engineering Installation Group of the Ohio Air National Guard on receiving the Mission Support Trophy from the National Guard Association of the United States; and

WHEREAS,  Awarded to the top nonflying unit in the entire Air National Guard, the Mission Support Trophy is a fitting tribute to the 251st Cyber Engineering Installation Group in recognition of its ability to establish and maintain communications networks in war zones. Headquartered at the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport, the group manages eight EI squadrons in six states, and it has won the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award ten times since 1973. These accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only the unit itself but also on the astute leadership of its commander, Colonel Norm Poklar, on its hard-working members, and on the Springfield community; and

WHEREAS,  Achievements such as these demonstrate a strong sense of duty, love of country, and dedication to the ideals of our nation on the part of the members and leadership of the 251st Cyber Engineering Installation Group. It is through the hard work, skills, and sacrifices of Americans such as these that the United States remains a proud, strong, and respected nation, and they are truly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS,  Willingly giving of their time, energy, and abilities, the members of the 251st Cyber Engineering Installation Group have worked tirelessly to better the world around them, and through their generous contributions, they have earned the respect and esteem of many. We are pleased to note that it is through the unceasing efforts of such service men and women that our country continues to shine as a beacon of hope and democracy for the world; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the 251st Cyber Engineering Installation Group of the Ohio Air National Guard on its exemplary success and salute its members and commander as fine citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the 251st Cyber Engineering Installation Group of the Ohio Air National Guard.

I, Vincent L. Keeran, hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of Senate Resolution No. 327, adopted by the Ohio Senate, August 16, 2012.
