A RESOLUTION | Honoring Centenary United Methodist Church on its One Hundred Twelfth Anniversary. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Centenary United Methodist Church on the hallowed occasion of its One Hundred Twelfth Anniversary; and |
| WHEREAS, Since its inception, Centenary United Methodist Church has offered its members the pathway to a more meaningful life by illuminating and demonstrating the precepts on which the church was founded. The spirit of love and Christian fellowship which exists among the parishioners prevails not only within the church edifice itself but also extends beyond those sacred walls to touch the lives of everyone encountered by these devout disciples; and |
| WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of the church's past and present leaders, including its current pastor, Donnetta Peaks, Centenary United Methodist Church has experienced continual growth and has provided a source of moral guidance and spiritual motivation for each of its members. Over the years, the church has enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding area with its support of such endeavors as H.O.M.E., the Greater Linden Landlord Association, the Linden Litter League, and community cleanup, nuisance and weed abatement, neighborhood revitalization, business development, and voting registration efforts. Clearly, it has earned the gratitude and respect of the many citizens it has so capably served; and |
| WHEREAS, An occasion such as this is an important milestone which represents dedication, commitment, and enduring faith. For more than one hundred years, the members of Centenary United Methodist Church have kept their faith alive in the Columbus community, and, on this special anniversary, the congregation has accepted the challenge of carrying its beliefs into the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Centenary United Methodist Church on its One Hundred Twelfth Anniversary and pay tribute to all those joining in the celebration of this joyous event; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Centenary United Methodist Church. |
