A RESOLUTION
Honoring the City of Greenville as one of Ohio's Best Hometowns.

WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the City of Greenville on being selected by Ohio Magazine as one of Ohio's Best Hometowns for 2012-2013; and

WHEREAS,  This prestigious distinction is a fitting tribute to the City of Greenville, for it has been recognized for its community spirit, education, entertainment, health and safety, business environment, and culture and heritage. This accomplishment is a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on the city itself but also on its residents, for their efforts have certainly made the area a pleasant and friendly place in which to live and work; and

WHEREAS,  The City of Greenville has enjoyed the benefits of a generous and civic-minded population, and those who currently make it their home take great pride in its rich heritage. This statewide honor offers local citizens the opportunity to share their memories and experiences and to reflect on the benefits of life in their close-knit community, for they have built on the best traditions of the past to ensure a future filled with hope and promise; and

WHEREAS,  America is only as strong as her individual communities, which are unique and which make a significant contribution to the culture of our state and nation. Throughout its history, the City of Greenville has become known for its residents' cooperation, integrity, and willingness to work hard--exemplary qualities that are still manifested by its citizens today; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the City of Greenville on its recent accolade and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the City of Greenville.

I, Vincent L. Keeran, hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of Senate Resolution No. 353, adopted by the Ohio Senate, October 9, 2012.
